Every once in a while, I photograph a wedding that feels like stepping straight into a movie, and this Wedding at Piper Palm House was exactly that! Katelyn and Marco’s day was editorial, cinematic, and full of intentional beauty. From the moment they shared their mood board with me, I knew we were creating something timeless. Think classic black-tie elegance, rich greenery, and warm, film-inspired tones, all wrapped into one perfect story!

Before every wedding, I hop on a video call with my couples about a month before their big day. It’s not just to talk logistics, it’s to dive into their vision. I send an info sheet that includes space for them to create a wedding mood board, where they can drop in inspiration photos that capture the feeling they want their gallery to have. Katelyn and Marco took this to heart, curating images that screamed “editorial meets timeless romance.”
What I love most about this process is that it’s never about copying, it’s about translation. I take those visuals and let them inform how I photograph, pose, and move through the day. It’s about molding my artistry to fit their story, not reshaping their wedding to fit my portfolio!

Piper Palm House, located in the heart of Tower Grove Park, already has this naturally cinematic feel. The high ceilings, vintage windows, and lush greenery made it the perfect setting for a gallery that felt elevated and editorial. Katelyn’s sleek satin gown paired beautifully with Marco’s classic tux, a duo that looked straight out of an old Hollywood film. We didn’t need hours upon hours of portraits to make it happen either. We shot bridal portraits in just 10 minutes, couple portraits in 20, wedding party photos in 30, and family formals in 15, all without a first look. It’s proof that you don’t need endless photo time to create artful, intentional images. It’s about connection, creativity, and trust!

Seeing the side-by-side of their inspiration board and final gallery makes me so proud of what we created together. Every detail, from the candlelit reception tables to Katelyn’s delicate pearl details, came together effortlessly. The soft light streaming through the greenhouse windows, the lush outdoor portraits, and that golden-hour veil moment all echoed the editorial vision they dreamed up. That’s what makes collaboration so powerful. When couples trust me with their vision, it allows us to create something deeply personal, something that feels like them!
