An Editorial Engagement Session at the St. Louis Central Library & Forest Park
From the start, Leah & Cade knew they wanted their Editorial Engagement Session to feel elevated, modern, and very them. We spent the day moving through two iconic St. Louis locations, the St. Louis Central Library and Forest Park, leaning into architecture, movement, and quiet in-between moments. The result was a gallery that feels effortlessly cool, a little moody, and full of that editorial goodness Leah was craving! Think clean lines, intentional poses, and just enough blur to make everything feel alive.
Editorial Session at the St. Louis Central Library
The St. Louis Central Library was the perfect place to kick things off for this Editorial Engagement Session. The stone steps, dramatic doorways, and classic details gave us that high-fashion, downtown feel without trying too hard! Leah’s sleek dress paired with Cade’s tailored suit felt right at home here, blending timeless style with a modern edge. We focused on slow movement, natural interactions, and letting moments unfold instead of over-posing. This is where that editorial wedding photographer approach really shines, relaxed, intentional, and visually strong!
Stunning Portraits At Forest Park
Forest Park brought a softer contrast while still keeping things polished and editorial. The open paths, bridges, and fall colors added warmth without losing the clean look of the session. This part of the day felt a little more romantic and playful, with moments of laughter and movement mixed in. We leaned into walking shots, natural touches, and subtle motion to keep everything feeling real. It’s a great reminder that an Editorial Engagement Session doesn’t have to feel stiff, it can still be emotional and fun.
Tips for an Editorial Engagement Session Look & Feel
If you’re dreaming of an editorial engagement session, start with outfits that feel elevated but comfortable. Clean lines, neutral tones, and tailored pieces always photograph beautifully! Location matters too, think architecture, open spaces, and places that feel intentional instead of overly busy. Trust movement over perfection, walking, turning, and interacting naturally creates that effortless editorial look. And finally, choose an editorial wedding photographer who knows how to guide without over-directing, that balance is everything!!
