Alyssa and David’s wedding day was everything you’d want from a summer wedding in St. Louis, elegant, joyful, and just the right amount of iconic. They tied the knot surrounded by family, friends, and the kind of beautiful locations that make you fall in love with the city all over again! From getting ready at The Chase Park Plaza, to their glass garden ceremony at The Jewel Box, and finishing with an unforgettable St. Louis Art Museum wedding reception, every moment felt timeless with a twist. The fact that David and most of his groomsmen are in the Navy (yes, full dress uniforms included!) only added to the beauty, and wait ‘til you see how they cut the cake!
The day started in one of the most iconic spots in the city, The Chase Park Plaza, where Alyssa got ready with her girls in the cutest matching blue robes and cozy slippers. The room was buzzing with excitement and happy tears! Especially when her mom helped her into her gown. Alyssa wore an off-the-shoulder dress that felt effortlessly elegant! It was paired with lace heels, a cathedral-length veil, and heirloom jewelry that gave the whole look a sentimental touch. Every detail felt so personal and classic. Meanwhile, David and his groomsmen were suiting up in their Navy dress whites, adding that formal, ceremonial touch that made everything feel just a little more cinematic!
If you’ve never been to a wedding at The Jewel Box in Forest Park just picture a greenhouse filled with towering palms, floor-to-ceiling glass, and the softest natural light pouring in from above. It was truly breathtaking. Alyssa walked down the aisle on her dad’s arm, and David’s reaction said everything. The string quartet played as they exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends. With greenery draping behind them and sunlight glowing through the glass, it felt peaceful and sacred, but still totally full of joy. The kiss, the cheers, the walk back down the aisle hand in hand, it was such a meaningful way to start the next chapter of their story.
After the ceremony, we took some time to explore Forest Park! This was for the wedding party and couple portraits, and the energy was SO good. The bridesmaids wore these gorgeous powder blue floral dresses that looked so soft and summery. While the groomsmen (most of whom are also in the Navy) kept it classic in their dress whites and tuxedos. Everyone looked amazing, but the real magic happened with Alyssa and David’s portraits. They were all smiles, totally in sync, and so clearly soaking up the moment together. We even made a quick stop by the Gateway Arch, because when you’re having a St. Louis wedding, of course you do! It was such a fun way to blend tradition and personality into their photos!
Now this is how you do a reception!! The St. Louis Art Museum wedding space was absolutely stunning. Think vaulted ceilings, white florals in tall glass vases, gold chairs, and soft candlelight everywhere. It felt grand without being stuffy, and elegant without being overdone. Guests mingled among the art and history while sipping cocktails and finding their seats. And in true Navy tradition, David sliced their wedding cake with a ceremonial sword, easily one of the coolest moments of the night! It was one of those receptions where everything just flowed meaningful toasts, laughter echoing through the space, and so much love from everyone there to celebrate!
Alyssa and David’s wedding day was a perfect mix of timeless elegance and personal touches. Set across some of the most iconic venues in St. Louis. From getting ready at The Chase Park Plaza to their glasshouse ceremony at The Jewel Box, every moment felt dreamy and intentional. Their reception at the St. Louis Art Museum brought the day full circle with stunning florals, historic architecture, and even a sword cake-cut, a nod to David’s Navy background. The whole day had a joyful, relaxed energy that made their classic celebration feel modern, meaningful, and full of heart. Ready for me to capture yours next?
