Editorial & Playful: Caitlin & Andrew’s Downtown St. Louis Engagement Session

There’s something about a St. Louis engagement session that just hits different, especially when it’s downtown, mixing editorial energy with a laid-back twist. Caitlin and Andrew wanted their session to feel modern and fun, with that effortlessly cool vibe that feels true to them. We started at the St. Louis Central Library for that clean, architectural backdrop, then ended the night with drinks (and a little champagne spray!) at Humphrey’s Bar, which just happens to be owned by Andrew’s aunt. It was the perfect combo of classy and carefree, and every moment felt natural, like two people just hanging out and letting the day unfold. You can tell how much they love being around each other, which made every frame that much better!

Editorial Vibes at the St. Louis Central Library

The library setting gave this session such a sleek and timeless feel. The tall columns, marble stairs, and soft light made every shot look like it belonged in a magazine spread. Caitlin looked stunning in her short white dress and heels, simple but so chic! While Andrew kept things classic in his navy suit. We wandered through the grand halls, played with light and shadow, and even took a few moody shots inside that felt cinematic in the best way. I loved how they just leaned into the moment, laughing, whispering, and stealing those little looks that make photos feel real. This part of the day felt polished and modern, but never stiff, just two people being themselves in one of the prettiest spots in the city!

Playful Moments at Humphrey’s Bar

After wrapping up at the library, we traded the formal vibes for something way more casual. Humphrey’s Bar was the perfect spot, personal, cozy, and full of personality. Caitlin changed into a satin slip dress, and they grabbed drinks, laughed behind the counter, and just had fun with it. The best part? We climbed out a window to take photos on the roof during blue hour, seriously, the coolest ending to a downtown St. Louis engagement session! The energy shifted from editorial to playful, but it still felt effortlessly cohesive. They were popping bottles, dancing around, and embracing that “this is us” energy that makes sessions like this so memorable. It was the kind of night you look back on and can feel all over again.
