Ellie and Aaron’s St. Louis Engagement Session at The Last Hotel + Union Station
Ellie and Aaron brought so much infectious energy to their St. Louis engagement session! We went to several locations to capture a variety of different photos – something I strive for in every engagement session for my couples. This time, we decided to take some upscale photos at The Last Hotel and then headed to Union Station, a sentimental location for Ellie and Aaron. For a peek into my engagement session process and photo inspiration, keep on reading!
St. Louis Engagement Session at The Last Hotel, The Arch, Wash Ave., and Union Station
From the moment I met Ellie and Aaron at The Last Hotel, I knew we were all going to have a blast together. They immediately headed to the bar to ask for Jägerbombs to kick off our session, and it made me so happy to see them excited and high-energy. These two were unapologetically themselves – a quality that clearly translates in their engagement photos! I make it a point to get to know my couples so that by the time we meet up, you’re already comfortable enough to be authentic in front of the camera. Ellie and Aaron truly trusted me to capture them in their essence while taking shots, running around the streets of STL, popping champagne, and just having fun.
Ellie and Aaron are quite the high-energy couple, so I made sure to capture images that reflect that. However, if you and your partner are more introverted, we’re still just as likely to create artful images for your engagement session! That’s why getting to know you, your love languages, and your hobbies is so important to my process. When you book with me, I’m curating an engagement session experience that is completely tailored to you as a couple. If a quiet picnic in Forest Park or a cozy in-home session is more your style, then that’s what we’re doing!
No matter what your activity preference is, I always let my couples know that there are two parts to your engagement session. The first half will be a conventional session at a location that matches whatever vibe or vision you already have in mind. For Ellie and Aaron, this was their photos at The Last Hotel! For the second half, I’ll be tagging along while you two go on a fun date somewhere you love being together or partake in an activity that you love doing. During this segment of E + A’s engagement session, we headed to Union Station where they had one of their very first dates. It made perfect sense for us to choose that location to have some fun and relive some of their early relationship memories – this time on camera!
What to expect when hiring me for your engagement session
After Ellie and Aaron’s STL engagement session, she sent me a text saying that she knew they’d have a good time, but they ended up having such a blast they wanted to go on a double date with my husband and me. If that doesn’t perfectly describe how I strive to make all of my couples feel, I don’t know what does! Being a documentary-style photographer, it’s imperative that I plan our sessions to include fun activities and prompt you and your partner to interact so we can create images that bring out the authenticity in your love languages and personality. During that process, we naturally become a lot closer than we were at the beginning of our session! By the end of our time together, it’ll feel like we’ve been friends forever.
