Saskia and Andrew’s wedding day was a heartfelt celebration that beautifully blended their distinct backgrounds. Set against the backdrop of the Piper Palm House in St. Louis, their day was marked by intimate moments, personal traditions, and the laid-back, joyful spirit that defines them as a couple! I was honored to document their wedding in both photo and video format to give them a cohesive, masterful preservation of such an important and intimate day.
The Couple: Saskia and Andrew
Saskia from Germany, and Andrew, an American football player embody a cross-continental love story. They originally met while Andrew was playing football overseas in Saskia’s home country, and she immediately fell for his charm and took an interest. After Andrew moved back to the midwest, Saskia eventually followed and put down roots in Kansas City to be near him. It was very important to them that their wedding was comfortable and casual, as many of Saskia’s family and friends were traveling long distances to attend! Their desire for a candid, documentary photo/video style to reflect the essence of their day is what confirmed we were going to be the perfect fit for each other.
Their Garden Party Wedding at Piper Palm House
Their day unfolded with preparations in the Victorian Bridal Villa, followed by a first look and portrait session that captured their genuine love and excitement for the day ahead. The ceremony, held at the Piper Palm House, resonated with their desire for a wedding that felt like a garden party in the heart of St. Louis, complete with a Gen-Z touch as Saskia walked down the aisle to a popular TikTok song, “Dandelions.” The celebration continued with an outdoor cocktail hour and a reception that embodied casual comfort, emphasizing the importance of togetherness over formality. It was a dream day to be a part of!

Saskia’s approach to her wedding — prioritizing comfort and candid moments over posed photographs and traditional attire — created an atmosphere of genuine warmth and inclusivity. Incorporating German traditions alongside Andrew’s Midwestern roots, their wedding was a beautiful fusion of cultures!
