As a St. Louis wedding photographer & videographer, I’ve seen countless stunning venues that I know couples like you would love. In this blog post, I’ve compiled my top 4 wedding venues in St. Louis for artsy couples that I have personally captured and definitely believe are worth checking out!

The Dogwood 

The Dogwood is located in the heart of The Grove in St. Louis and is unlike any other event venue in town. Originally, the building was a 1941 Kroger Grocery storefront, but the team at Dogwood added a second story and completely renovated it into the building we see today. When you walk in, you’re immediately greeted with the stunning spiral staircase and hanging pendant lights that provide such a romantic and moody atmosphere. The second story provides a bright, white, and airy space that you can transform to your heart’s desire – whether you want to keep it minimal or dress it up with your decor. If you want to hold a completely outdoor ceremony or cocktail hour, you can take advantage of The Garden which sits directly west of The Dogwood!

Little Piney Lodge

For couples who want to feel a little more secluded, Little Piney Lodge would be the perfect wedding venue for you. Nestled in the Missouri Wine Country, Little Piney is your private estate for the duration of your wedding weekend. You can expect a refined yet relaxed atmosphere at this venue with access to all of its amenities from Friday morning to Sunday morning. There’s an onsite log cabin that can sleep up to 6 people, as well as the three bedrooms in the lodge that can accommodate an additional 6 of your guests. Lodging for Friday and Saturday nights is included in the rental fee, so you won’t have to worry about booking other accommodations for your wedding party!

There are three main spaces for your wedding day festivities: the Pavillion, the Fest Haus, and the Gazebo. The lakefront Gazebo, suited for an outdoor ceremony, highlights the natural beauty of the surrounding scenery with a rustic elegance feel to it. The outdoor Pavillion is nestled right at the edge of the woods, providing an alternative ceremony location or space to host your cocktail hour/reception. And if you’d prefer to keep the party indoors, take advantage of the Fest Haus with its open beamed ceilings, chandeliers, and polished concrete floors! The total capacity for Little Piney Lodge is 200 people.

Wild Carrot

We’re heading back into the city with this St. Louis wedding venue! Wild Carrot is located in the heart of STI’s Historic Shaw neighborhood.  What was originally a one-screen movie theatre is now a modern indoor/outdoor venue featuring exposed brick walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, and tons of space for you to take up. You have 4500 square feet on the main level, 1000 square feet in the loft, and 5000 square feet of outdoor green space at your fingertips. Also included in the venue are 2 getting-ready suites so both you and your partner can get ready onsite! 

The capacity for Wild Carrot is: 

Fully seated: 200 on the main level and 250 utilizing the loft space

Cocktail style: 300

Indoor ceremony: 200

Outdoor ceremony: 300

The Last Hotel 

Last, but certainly not least on our list of the best wedding venues in St. Louis is The Last Hotel. Hotel venues are especially convenient if you’re having out-of-town guests – you can have everyone stay in one place without worrying about transportation. Aside from that, I’m in love with this venue because of the detail-oriented architecture and Neoclassical + Art Deco styles all throughout the building. Truly perfect for couples who want to prioritize aesthetics without having to utilize a ton of decor!
