Alejandro & Allison’s session was one of those sessions that just felt effortlessly cool from the second we started. Their Central Library engagement photos in St. Louis had the perfect mix of romantic, classy, and editorial without feeling too serious or overly posed. Between the huge stone staircases, the warm golden light downtown, and the moodier indoor spots inside the library, every part of this session felt straight out of a movie. We ended the evening at Bourbon Ballroom at Old Monroe which added such a cozy, intimate vibe to the second half of their gallery.

The Central Library is honestly one of those locations that makes every photo feel elevated without even trying. The architecture is stunning, the lighting changes beautifully throughout the evening, and there are so many little corners that photograph so well. Allison’s dress moved perfectly on the stairs outside the library, especially once golden hour hit and everything started glowing. Some of my favorite moments from this part of the session were the really simple ones, them walking up the stairs together, sitting in the grass laughing, and those quiet little moments where they completely forgot the camera was there.
Once we moved inside, the vibe shifted in the best way. The darker staircases and warm lighting gave everything a moodier, more editorial feel while still feeling really natural and romantic. Alejandro & Allison made my job so easy because they were just so comfortable together. Nothing felt forced or stiff. It honestly felt more like hanging out with them while documenting all the little moments in between!

After exploring downtown, we headed over to Bourbon Ballroom at Old Monroe and it ended up being the perfect way to finish the session. The warm lighting and darker tones gave the photos such a cozy, intimate feel that balanced out the brighter library photos so well. It felt classy without feeling too formal which matched their vibe perfectly. I loved how relaxed these two were the entire session. One second they were laughing at each other and the next they were completely wrapped up in their own little world. Those are always the moments that end up feeling the most meaningful in photos. The combination of the historic downtown architecture, golden hour light, and the moodier indoor spaces made this whole session feel timeless while still feeling modern and personal.
