The Perfect Piazza Messina Wedding Timeline | A Real Friday Wedding Example

The Perfect Piazza Messina Wedding Timeline | A Real Friday Wedding Example

If you’re planning a wedding at Piazza Messina, one of the biggest questions you’ll probably have is, “How much time do we actually need?” This Piazza Messina wedding timeline is based on Alison and Seth’s real Friday wedding and is a great example of how to fit everything into a relaxed, stress-free day. With photography coverage from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., they had plenty of time for details, private moments, portraits, and a fun reception without ever feeling rushed!

Getting Ready & First Look

Photography started at 2:00 p.m. with detail photos, including invitations, rings, accessories, and loose flowers from the florist for flat lays. Alison got ready in the on-site cottage with her bridesmaids and family before getting into her dress around 2:45 p.m., followed by a relaxed reveal with her bridesmaids. At the same time, the second photographer spent time with Seth and the guys as they finished getting ready. At 3:15 p.m., Alison shared a first look with her dad before meeting Seth near the tall trees for their first look and private vows at 3:30 p.m. We went straight into couple portraits afterward, followed by wedding party photos at 4:15 p.m. and immediate family photos at 4:45 p.m. Because everything was finished before the ceremony, they even had about 45 minutes to relax before guests arrived.

Ceremony & Portraits

Their ceremony began at 6:00 p.m. and was short, sweet, and ended with a fun bubble exit. Afterward, we spent a few minutes on extended family photos while guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Around 7:15 p.m., Alison and Seth snuck away for about 15 minutes of sunset portraits before making their grand entrance. Since we had already photographed most of their portraits earlier in the day, this was just enough time to capture that beautiful evening light without missing much of the reception.

Reception Timeline

The reception officially kicked off at 7:30 p.m. with the grand entrance, cake cutting, and welcome before guests sat down for dinner at 7:45 p.m. Speeches started at 8:15 p.m., followed by a fun king’s table cheers photo while everyone was gathered together. At 8:30 p.m., Alison and Seth shared their choreographed first dance before shortened parent dances kept the evening moving. Before photography wrapped up at 9:00 p.m., we also took a late-night flat lay of a few reception details, something I always recommend if you have special décor or personal touches you want documented before everything gets packed away!
